Description: JSSA is undertaking a transformative communications change to more fully integrate digital media and online communication outlets into our current communications strategy. The communications manager will help create, implement and communicate information about JSSA’s services and programs through traditional press/media outreach venues as well as through the agency’s listservs, websites, and other social networking sources. The candidate will proactively seek new opportunities to communicate JSSA’s programs and services to reach as wide an audience as possible. Other key responsibilities will include: managing all press and communication outreach; coordinating with other staff on the writing, designing and distribution of agency-wide internal and external communications; and overseeing the scheduling of all community outreach events with staff. Candidates should have online content development and management experience and be knowledgeable about social media. Hands on experience with website content management systems preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Access. Some knowledge of Raiser’s Edge helpful. Candidates must have an educational background in journalism, PR, non-profit management, or a related field. Excellent time management, organizational, and oral communication skills and demonstrated writing and editing skills required. Some desktop publishing experience preferred.
