Description: Conducts Wed. evening classes (approximately twice per month) from 6:45-8:15pm to reinforce weekly Hebrew study via Skype, learn about elements of the Shabbat service and prepare to lead selected prayers at Shabbat services, conduct discussion of Torah and Haftorah portions that Bnai Mitzvah and older students are preparing to read, and lead discussion/ and/or planning of Tikkun Olam elements of the 7th and 8th Grade program. Position requires the ability to teach students to read Torah and Haftorah portions fluently and to discuss the meaning of the passages. (Cantor will teach trope and chanting individually.) Applicants should be able to attend occasional Shirat HaNefesh Sat. morning services for familiarity with our service, siddur and prayer melodies.
Position Available: 09/01/10
Salary Range: Fixed fee per session commensurate with experience
Desired Education Degree/Level: All
Jewish Education: All relevant experience will be considered
Prior Experience: All relevant experience will be considered
Other: Positive enthusiasm for helping to build a relevant Jewish experience and educational program for Jewish adolescents within a creative and supportive community.
